Duties

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, reports, and other substantive legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analysis using Westlaw and other legal resources.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Attend hearings, mediations, court conferences, and other litigation proceedings.
• Develop litigation strategy and provide case evaluations and recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Maintain case deadlines and meet applicable billing and productivity expectations.

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• 2-4 years of litigation experience, with insurance defense experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, and drafting substantive motions.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and case management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-oriented practice.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Florida.

Skills

• Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
