About the role
Working closely with our Procurement Manager, this role is responsible for the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the firm. Excellent communication and organisational skills will set you up for success, partnering with internal stakeholders and driving end-to-end procurement projects nationally.
Along with your day to day, your expertise will be valued and called upon to recommend and implement new initiatives to improve the company and divisional purchasing - particularly with respect to providing guidance to the wider company over the best procurement process and methods.
Key duties will include:
End to end sourcing for categories from leading RFPs, RFTs, contract negotiation, overseeing implementation and ongoing vendor management
Work in collaboration with General Counsel to manage the establishment and execution of contracts, ensuring the right commercial outcome and effective risk management
Selecting reliable sources of supply, engaging complimentary suppliers and working with key suppliers to improve value delivered to the firm
Maintaining programs for vendor analysis and cost reduction thereby improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement process
Managing supplier agreements, by monitoring performance and initiating corrective action where necessary, and periodically reporting on supplier performance
Conducting technical, business and process analysis, identifying areas for process improvement and providing advice to National Procurement Manager
Interacting with senior management to gain sponsorship for procurement initiatives
Participating in developing, piloting, testing and implementing appropriate procurement tools
Taking a leading role in providing guidance, training and awareness packages for staff with purchasing responsibilities
What experience are we looking for?
Circa 5 years in a similar role at a large organisation, company or firm
Sound knowledge of procurement concepts, processes, activities and trends
Broad understanding of contract management law
Strong stakeholder management skills and relationship building ability
Advanced analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work well with others and as part of a diverse, multi-functional team
Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands, and deliver against deadlines
Advanced software skills notably Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Willingness to take on new responsibilities to support the firm’s strategy
